STISD will serve free breakfast and lunch meals to children 18 years old and younger from our local communities and enrolled students up to 21 years old with disabilities throughout the month of June.

We’re on that summer time now, and for 7th-grader (incoming 8th-grader) at South Texas ISD Preparatory Academy, Crystal Wang, that means the start of her second summer participating in TexPrep UTRGV - a 7-week program designed to prepare students for success in advanced studies leading to STEM careers.

Online media service Stacker recently released a list of 30 high schools in the state of Texas that “stand out [among the thousands of schools] for their academic excellence, incredible track records, and the future success of their young students.”
South Texas Independent School District’s (STISD) Science Academy earned the 15th spot on the list, reflecting its position on the Niche 2023 Best Public High Schools ranking released earlier this school year.
The Superintendent's Cup Co-Ed Softball Tournament will take place on Saturday, April 22, at the Los Encinos Community Park located at 2900 Sarah Ave. in McAllen.

In his first-year at STISD, Patil, 6th-grader at the Virtual Academy, has already had the opportunity to do what he loves both academically and athletically.
STISD middle school and high school teams and individuals competed at the Texas Charter School Academic & Athletic League State Golf Tournament on Monday, March 27, and brought home the gold!
The STISD Board of Directors passed a resolution during the Feb. 28 meeting to more formally thank philanthropist MacKenzie Scott for her generous donation of $8 million to the district.
